Description

Description:
Journey through the sacred waters of Ojibwe land in this cinematic music video — a visual story of life, balance, and respect for the gifts of nature. From the stillness of a loon’s call at dawn, to the raw power of bears fishing salmon in the rapids, to the deep, quiet world beneath the surface, every frame is inspired by the clans, animals, and spirits that connect us to the water.

This song honors the cycle of life: water as the first home in our mother’s womb, water as the sustainer of all beings, and water as the thread that ties us to future generations. Featuring scenes of the Loon, Eagle, Bear, Wolf, Crane, Turtle, Otter, Sturgeon, and more — each representing a living part of the Ojibwe story.

🎤 Tribe: Ojibwe First Nations
📍 Filming Inspiration: Traditional lands of the Ojibwe people

💧 If this video moves you, share it to honor the water and those who protect it.

When we’re first conceived, we are in water, inside our Mother’s belly. When it’s time for us to be born, the water cleanses away and we come out into the world. From that time on, we need that pure clean water to survive.

Women are in harmony with the moon, and women are also in harmony with the water. Every 28 days the moon shows her face, and every 28 days a woman has her purification cycle. We always honour that connection that we have. We are in harmony with a lot of things in nature.

The moon causes the churning of the water, and that cleanses the water. There is a whole cycle of life that’s in the water, and the life that’s on the land.
Everybody and everything needs water to survive.

The water is connected to our ceremonies. Rocks/ Grandfathers don’t necessarily need the water, but we need the water when we’re in a sweat lodge to go onto those rocks. Everything is connected and we need the water to survive so we need to keep it clean. If we put dirty water on the sweat lodge rocks, that would be harmful to us. There is always a repercussion when we don’t take care of things.

We must take care of it so that it’s there for us and the next seven generations.
