How to Say Goodbye to You (Kramer)

Description

This is the Kramer electric version of my translation of the 1969 Françoise Hardy hit "Comment to dire adieu". It's a French adaptation of the 1966 ballad "It Hurts to Say Goodbye" by Arnold Goland and Jack Gold. The first French adaptation was "Avant de dire adieu" (Before Saying Goodbye) by Michèle Vendôme in 1967. Shortly after that an instrumental version by Caravelli gave it a Bossa Nova arrangement. It was around then that Françoise Hardy asked Serge Gainsbourg to write lyrics for the upbeat adaptation of the melody.

So this is my English adaptation of a French adaptation of an English song. The lyrics for

I recorded it on October 10, 2024, in Toronto.
For the video and some of the audio I used my Sony ZV-10 camera.
For the rest of the audio I used my Scarlett audio interface.
