Precious Moments…
My very first (but not the last) encounter with the wonderful Ms Sheila Jordan was at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), where she served as part of a panel of judges for the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Competition alongside Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Mark Ruffin, and Sheila Elaine Anderson. Little did I know then how much of an impact she’d have on my life path, and for that, I am so grateful. I am thankful to have shared and experienced many special moments with her, extended conversations in person and over the phone, joyful moments of laughter in public and private; Sheila Jordan made time for everyone with a loving, generous heart and fantastic spirit; she was a beautiful human, with a unique and compelling voice, who, despite life's many obstacles, exuded happiness and positivity!
May her memory continue to illuminate the paths of many whose lives she touched and inspired, and may her legacy continue to shine through the generations to come.
Her energy and zest for life and music were truly inspiring, and as a pivotal force in our community, she will be sorely missed by all of us. ♥️🎶
My sincere condolences and heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to Sheila's surviving daughter, Tracey J. Jordan
