Recorded in a cleit on Hirta, St Kilda. "Stormbird' is about an experience I had on my first visit. The intoxicating and beautiful smell of the storm petrel transported me into another realm. It was an instantaneous powerful moment that became stretched out into this song.
There are thousands of cleits on St Kilda. Beautifully built like stone igloos. They were used for shelter, drying and storing fuel and food and maybe much more.
